OK so it was along time coming but lets face it there are only about 20 of you out there waiting on the rest of the match report. Anyway, sorry guys! I mean it, I won’t wait this long again. Sorry, again.
That done, how DO you miss 4 goals in one game? I mean, will that ever happen again? Well that’s what I thought until last weeks Old Firm game. You guessed it, missed four goals. Granted I wasn’t actually there, and granted I hadn’t just nipped out for a coffee, but still the same, I missed the first four goals. I missed the fifth on as well as it happens, in fact I never saw the game come to think of it……. Where am I going with this? No Idea.
Firstly an apology to Hawksters wife who got a wee bit of stick in the last blog. Sorry Lynn! No really I am. I hate it when the press misrepresent people in print, I know how much pain it can cause, and I was misinformed by your man. So, in a way of a public apology, Sorry. And just to clear up the issue and put the record straight, it was only 4 hours you spent cuddling the toilet and NOT – I repeat NOT – the whole night!
Right, Doonhamers out there, how are you coping with the memories of THAT day. It was an absolute privilege to be there and be part of your day, as it was when McCann hit that 128 yarder against Dundee. It was an emotional day for all, and I must admit, i had a lump in my throat as the players celebrated in front of us and everywhere around me there were families and fathers and sons embracing and just drinking in the unbeleivable drama which had just developed in front of us. I just hope that the final can live up to it for you.
A word also for the Aberdeen fans, who must have been distraught at losing to Queens who were huge underdogs on the day. A great deal of the Dons fans stayed on and applauded Queens, and for that they should be commended. You did your club proud!
Well, not much in the way of a match report I know, however, lets look forward to a great final. The incredible thing about this Cup Trail is that it has taken all this time to meet an Old Firm team (and maybe if Thistle had got a rub of the green at Ibrox – Broadfoot should have been sent off!), who knows, my first -and possibly only (watch this space) – Cup Trail could have been OLD FIRM FREE!
No such luck.
On an optimistic note, maybe with Queens being massive underdogs, we might see Rangers abandon their adopted style of “Industrial” Football, and actually play what the punters come to see. We can only hope!
(And I’m not Bitter) Se you all at the Final!
Fiery Jack
